Weekend Sunshine!

It was absolutely AMAZING this past weekend.
We were fortunate enough to spend this day with dear friends who had access to this amazing BBQ space where our kids were able to roam without a worry!
Let's not forget the amazing food!

I hope everyone took advantage of the Sun!!!

I was hoping the warm weather would continue throughout the week, but I noticed that it's quite dark outside though it's only 9 in the morning.  But I'm sure the warm weather will return soon or later.

Have a wonderful week!  I will be posting the mini session winner's pictures this week!

There are Eleven pictures attached to this post (please refresh if you can't view them all)

Hong Kong Family Portrait Photography

Spring is here!!!!!

Yay~!!  Spring is FINALLY here~

Sorry I haven't been blogging recently.  I have been taking pictures but haven't been around to post the pics yet.

It has been raining on and off but it is no longer cold.
Perfect weather to take beautiful pictures.
Not as sunny as I'd like but better then being in the cold with my puffy jacket on.

Can't wait to take a few more portraits coming up this month!

10 pictures attached (please scroll down for more~ refresh if you don't see all 10)

Don't be afraid of the colors

Last week I got to meet up with another photographer, Jeffrey Broer, and do a photo walk around Central.
It was quite exciting because you actually got to walk around the city with the sole purpose of taking pictures!
I got to see another photographer's point of view and the fact we had different lenses lead us to quite different images.

I think this is great for all artists of any type, not just the photographers.
Painters, writers, sculptors and the list goes on.
We are all so different but love the same thing!

There are more pictures but I already have enough to post so will post more later.

I was wondering the whole time what I wanted to concentrate on.
Jeffrey already had something in mind and he was on a mission.

I think for me the theme came out after the shoot and while I looked through the pictures.
All my shots came out so colorful.
I guess what drew me were the deep colors of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is an amazing place to take pictures.
I would say it's a photographers' paradise!
You can narrow down your clicks to
allies, doors, paths, steps, temples, colors, hills (angles) and so on

I hope to do more of these photo walks soon!

Please go all the way to the bottom for my favorite shot of the day~!!!

and I saved the best for last.
This is a picture by Jeffrey.
This is a perfect example of being ready and capturing the moment when it presents itself!
How perfect is it that the man with his red suspenders just happened to walk by?
and I love how the buildings are leaning and the man is not.
This was actually taken on a very steep hill so this man is walking down the steep hill.
You can see more of his work here

and lastly don't forget to stop by my face book here and say hello~

Yikes~!!!

Please do excuse the look of my blog site as of today February 27, 2012.
The blogsite will not show unless I set it to this simple mode.

So instead of depriving you of my blog, I thought this will have to do until the blog site fix their problem and allow us our high quality site back for our high quality viewers...

Thank you for your patience.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
update:

the site is back up.  seems like the blogsite was trying to update with some features and layout.
I'm not sure if I like it.  I already have a domain name purchased and would like to set up a website.
The work never ends...

ps below pictures from macau and around HK

Is the first day of spring near?

Today it rained in HK!

brr..

I feel cold when it's not raining, but I was feeling even colder because it was so cloudy and wet out side.

I wonder if spring is near.  Everyone thinks the weather here is quite finicky and will probably get cold again.

I hope not.  I want to pack away my down jacket and not have to be glued to my radiator.

Spring...

Please come quick!!!

Is anyone sick of the cold weather yet??

Don't forget to visit me on Facebook

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note:  One of my readers (aka as a very very good friend ;D) requested that I scale the pics smaller for easier viewing on mobile phone.  (Really appreciating the feedback by the way) Hope this adjustment helps...  Web viewing size on computer is a bit smaller but you can now view the whole pics on one screen shot instead of having to move it around!  You can always double click on the picture on the computer to see a bigger image.

What I learned this week...at Social Media Week Hong Kong

Wow...

It was an amazing week this week!
I got to shoot non-stop (at least 2 hours a day).
I met TONS of bloggers and agency people and other business related people.
I got to sit in and learn about blogging, twitter, linked-in (learned what Weibo was)
I knew social media was big but I didn't know that there was so much more behind it!
There was actually a business for business to effectively use social media.

I got to visit places I would not have otherwise.
like...
Sake Bar (8 in the morning)
City University in Kowloon Tong (I loved the energy from young people!)
Kee Club (private club in the middle of the city)

Things I could improve on after the event are...

1. Working on SEO's for my blog (thank you for enlightening me on this Jeremy and Kenneth)
2. Consistent and quality reading material for my blog (tip from James, Janice, connie, and razlan)
3. Narrowing down and focusing on my topic
4. Possibly change my blog to wordpress... Lord help me with html...
5. Work on how to reach my market on facebook page
6  Find a celebrity who will model for me for free so I can advertise my photography...  =)

and I'm sure the list will grow as I do more research.

Please visit my Facebook Page for more pictures from the event!

Love is...

Did everyone have a great Valentine's Day yesterday??
I don't know if it's because I'm getting old or I'm such a no-nonsense type of person..
or maybe because my husband was too busy with work
I really didn't care that it was V- Day...
I mean really WHAT is a Valentine's Day??

I know a lot of holidays have special meaning though they can be quite commercial as well.
But V Day??

Well, I didn't REALLY care UNTIL..

My kids brought me their little cards

It mattered to my kids.
They took their time to tell me how much they loved me.
How much I mean to them.

My kids can be quite... challenging.
They have so many needs and wants... ALL AT THE SAME TIME ALL THREE OF THEM~!

But no matter how imperfect (and I'm very far from perfect), they look at me in my eyes and tell me how much them love me.  "From the sky to the ground"

Then I think God's love is just like this, if not more.
Sure, they know I'm not perfect and don't like it when I get cranky.
But even through it all they love me unconditionally.
I love them but they love me more and I know God loves me even more.

Well today was just one of those days...  I had one of those moments...
