Last weekend, I was lead by the very well experienced Hong Kong dwellers to the heaven of fabric!
This place is in a huge tent not too far from a MTR.
As soon as you enter, you are overwhelmed by the amazing variety of fabrics in all sorts of texture and colors. My designer/handicraft friends, this would be where you will be hanging out if you were here in HK!!!
I remember trying to make a bed-cover about 5 years ago.. I just couldn't finish it! But of course, it was a lot more difficult then I imagined and ended up hiring someone to do it for me. I wish I had that seamstress here because I would be making tons of things with her help.
I've been photoshop-ing crazy for past few months. Today I decided to take a break and post some pics directly from my camera - SOOC, is what we photographers call them - straight out of the camera. Not even a logo! haha Is it because I'm being lazy? maybe.. But more I really like these pictures as is. I like how it is dark but so colorful. It's very worn down but can you imagine all the beautiful things that can be made out of these materials??
People, with just a bit of imagination, and a little bit of help from our sewing machine using friends, you can make a bag, dress, hat, bed sheets and maybe and MAYBE you can be the next best FASHION designer on the Project Runway!!! (I love that show =)
