BBQ... it's been 6 months!

It's been about 6 months since we last had a homemade meat on a BBQ grill!
We love that.
We love the smell, the burnt grill mark, and the taste of course

Our dear friends invited us to BBQ the other night!

Love love love being with friends, food and a little bit of Wii.

I hope we can do it again (especially the Dance 3!)

befriending the penguins

It was about 3-4 years ago that my kids went ice skating for the first time in their life.
My two older ones were either crawling on all fours with their skates and gloves on or hanging on to their dear lives with their arms wrapped around me or my husband.

Ever since then, I never really thought they would wanted to go ice skating...

I guess those moments were forgotten.

Thank goodness for our friends who urged us to go ice skating.
We all had a great time.

I want to give a shout out to the penguins that helped my little kids.
The little tuxedo creatures gave my 2nd timers much confidence needed.
After awhile they were not needed anymore.

Go to Elements in Kowloon!  Super fun AND affordable!

Mini me's~

Girls had fun yesterday getting their mini me's together!

I remember playing with a barbie when I was younger.
But I was never into it though.
I had it but it was left at home while I played with friends in the playground outside.
A bit of a tom boy, I was, you can say...

I think it helps that all these girls have same things in common: imagination through the lives of their dolls.

fire works with wine

After we let the kids loose in the play area, the parents were able to sit in front of a beautiful hong kong skyline, chit chat and relax with a bit of wine.

After a wonderful meal, we viewed the whole 25 minutes of the fireworks HK spent a fortune of.  It was a wonderful excuse to get together with friends.

What a great way to start the new year!

Happy Lunar New Year!

We spent our new year weekend in Macau - see here

For now we want to show you what we did when we got back.
It's called Yut Nori and it's an ancient board games from Korea.
Just like dice, the four sticks determine how many spaces you move on the board.
Using four chips, fastest to go home is the winner.

The youngest is still too young to play through the whole game so he ended entertaining himself eventually.

We will go and see the lion dance later and this evening fireworks over the Victoria Harbour.
We missed the parade yesterday because we were in Macau.

We are also busy handing out Lai see the red envelope!

Hope everyone will have a wonderful holiday week and have a blessing new year!!!

Lamma Island - Yung Shue Wan Side

Few weeks ago we took a ferry over to the Lamma Island.
We were so excited to travel OUTSIDE of the HK island and branch off to a different part of this place, we call home for now.

Yung Shue Wan side of the Lamma Island is surprisingly quaint and there are a lot of foreigners living here.  Most of them commute to Central are for business by ferry and it only takes them 30 minutes one way!  That beats 1hour traffic while being on the same island!

We will definitely go back again and next time we will make it to the other side of the island and maybe we might even get to visit the beach everyone is talking about!  kids were too busy shopping!!!  so many cute little shops and cafes.  we even found an organic grocery shop where we found gluten free bread.  wow.

Pics from the past

Hong Kong Baby Products Fair

My good friend, Reena, who is a fabulous jeweler invited me to come with her to the Jewelry Fair few months back.  She also attends all sorts of fairs held at the HKCEC or otherwise know as Hong Kong Convention and Exihibition Center.

Yesterday, we met up at the HK Baby Products Fair.

It was the last day of the fair and there were buyers walking out with huge baby gym and cars to ride in for as long as 160HK$!  Crazy prices!!   The buyer had luggages filled with toys and baby things.

The vendors do not want to take them back home (many international) so they sell them for quite low prices.

Thank the Lord that I have no need for these baby things.  Otherwise, I would've spent some good money there!  Too bad though that these fairs happen after Christmas...

I didn't have time to take much pictures though since it's not allowed once you get inside.  I was too busy browsing anyway. I just came back with some nice bookmarks, photo mat cutter, date stamper at the stationary fair section.  It doesn't sound fun but my wallet is full and happy~  haha
