Summer Holiday to Daejeon Korea

Hello

The summer is ALMOST over!
Well here in HK it's still hot.
Most of the kids have gone back to school or will be going back soon.
(speaking of which, please check out my back to school package on my facebook~)
I know I haven't posted much during my summer vacation so I wanted to take the next couple (or a few) posts and post about our summer vacation to Korea.

If anyone is interested in visiting Korea, hope you will find this visually helpful.

We stayed a whole month with my couz who was gracious enough to house myself and my three kids.  She has three kids living under her roof and it was a mad house for the whole month!

Even though the kids didn't have much scheduled for the summer break, they were able to explore the area quite freely with out much supervision.  This new-found freedom gave them some confidence and left me worrying about their whereabouts constantly...

We went shopping at wet markets that are held only twice a month.  They got to see what wet market looked like in Korea.  Fresh vegetables and fruits from local farmers were displayed through out the streets.

There's this little creek passes right by the apt my couz lived.
It was so laid back.  kids went there to splash and bike.
It got pretty hot for a week or two but kids found things to do.
like the old days...  being out door and not returning home until they got hungry....

S & A Korea Family Portrait

I have been in Korea for the past two weeks and am thoroughly enjoying the hot, spicy, sweet and tangy Korean food~  Yummm...

I also had the privilege of shooting a photo shoot for this little guy who turned one!  He's such a happy chubby baby who knows what he wants~  This family happens to be my couz~  Aren't they the sweetest?

There were so many that were my favorites from the shoot but I'll only post a few...  The location was AMAZING!!

Su and Ray are married~!

Can't believe that my little sister is married...  She's been such a great sister to me. We fight and argue but she was someone I can always rely on.  It was an amazing celebration!  The music, the food and the people~!  They put so much into this wedding to share with all their loved ones.  We appreciated every bit of it~

Y & M Couple Portrait Photography Part II

Oh Here are so more beautiful pics of Yuko and Michael~!!!!
Love it that they had their regular go to place that they wanted to remember and have it be part of this photo shoot!

It was a challenge trying to take natural light photos in low light but I think it worked out with some moody pics. Hopefully it set the mood for the rest of the night~   It really shows that they just absolutely adore each other!!!

Total 7 photos (please reload if you don't see them all~)

Y & M Couple Portrait Photography Part I

Yuko and Michael were the first couple we met when we arrived in Hong Kong, literally.  They picked us up from the airport and we were so thankful that they were such fun and generous couple.  They are no longer in Hong Kong but we miss them already! We will miss you BBQ sessions~  Here are a few of my favorites~

T & M Family - Maternity Photography

The news of the first baby comes with a lot of mixed feelings; excitement, love, fear, elation, nervousness and maybe if you were me, panic.  This couple though is handing the pregnancy with such calm grace.   Even still, we all need a little bit of relaxation to focus on what change lies ahead of us.

I can't wait to see who's hiding behind the belly!  I'm sure I'll be posting pics of the baby when the time arrives~!!!

12 photos total~!!!  Please refresh if you don't see them all.
Also stop by my facebook and say hello~

C & N Family Portrait - Hong Kong Family Photography

I know I've been pretty bad with posting all the portrait sessions!!!
Now I am finally settled down, I can start posting all the past sessions that I have been dying to post~

This first one is of Cynthia and Nick.  They are the sweet, intelligent and have the two of the most beautiful children. They are leaving Hong Kong for good and I will miss dear Cynthia so much!   I wish you the best of all in the new chapter of your life!  I'm so glad I was able to be part of your Hong Kong memory!

in.. transit

Wow...  We've completed an almost 18 hours of traveling and now re cooperating from the jet-lag.

This is probably the first time I am traveling with just the three children with out any extra special baby related items such as special snacks, strollers and carriers.  They were able to pack their special items.  I never even checked their bags but from what I've seen them take out, there were some books, pens and notebooks and as for the youngest, there were some blankies and soft animals.

I always never fail to pack the last minute.  I have list of "things to pack" but I never end up packing until the night before.  This is because most of the items I pack ARE the items I already use regulary.  That's why I'm always great-ful when the flight is not before 10am.

It seems that most of the International flights have in-flight entertainment system, even for an economy class.  Thank goodness for those.  Kids were looking forward to spoiling and ruining their eyes with a non stop entertainment.  Of course, I tried to  make that read for first 30 minutes of the flight.  Then I didn't feel so guilty that they were starting at the screen for the rest of the flight...

What I learned:

After 10 straight hours of watching movies, if you cut off that from them, they will give you a very very hard time.

Never assume the kids menu will be really kid-friendly...  my kids only had the buns..  nothing else on the plate was touched for the the whole flight

Your 8 year old will take a  place of your husband, and he will help you carry and roll tons of luggage when the airport makes you re-check your luggage when arriving in the states.

Don't expect much from a 5 year old other then carry his own stuff.

Sleeping on the plane when traveling with three kids is not nearly impossible... make sure they all start on a movie at the same time and they've gone to the toilet.  Now you have 1.5 hours of nap time.

I hope all of you have a wonderful summer.  This is just a beginning for us!
